The Cat is an entity of unknown power and scope that is apparently native to The In-Between.
History[]
It is unknown how long The Cat has been active, but one can assume he has been involved in Imperial affairs since at least the publishing of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland in 1865.
Using his access to the Dream-Realm to uncover vast amounts of information, The Cat became quite powerful in the Goblin community. By the late 20th century The Cat was able to become the manager of Harrods Market in The Hedge. He even had dealings with the mortal world, brokered through his cultist/slave Mr. Shaitana.
In 1997, The Cat made an arrangement with Mr. Black to purchase his first name, leading to The Anglo-Goblin War. He was killed by the members of The Deep End during the assault on the "Sin Palace" in the center of Harrods Market, and his "body" was taken by a group of Blackmasks. Despite his apparent death, members of Trouble Ahead have had experiences with the Cat in the modern era.
Powers[]
The Cat's exact powers are undefined although he has used all of the following in the past-
- Dream-manipulation
- Low-level telepathy
- Telekinesis
- Making things (Nellie Whistle) explode
- Instantaneous travel
- Flight
- Fire-breathing
- Shape Shifting
- Innate connection to hallucinogens
Mainifestations[]
The Cat has made several references in the past to being "Shattered" or "all broken up". This is apparent in the many different manifestations of the Cat. Some of these versions appear to have all of the memories of the others, but some (Gainsvort) seemingly have no knowledge possessed by the other forms.
